Highlight: Lak belongs to Lak District, Dak Lak Province. The mysterious land of Lak not only attracts tourists but also is considered as the symbol of Dak Lak's unique culture, which expresses in the sound of lithophones - a product of the traditional culture of the Central Highlands.
Ethnologist Condominas discovered the first ancient lithophones in Vietnam on February 5th, 1949 in Nduk Lieng Koran Lak Village. Ethnologist and musicologist Andre Saheffnet announced this instrument in Paris on June 21st, 1950. At present this set of lithophones is preserved in Louvre Museum (France).
The myth of Lak not only appears before tourists eyes but also is expressed by ancient stories passed down from generation to generation. If tourists do not believe, come to Lak and ask whoever there. They can tell tourists about the fierce battles between the dragon and the eel in time immemorial.
Brief Itinerary:
Day1: Da Lat - Lak Lake (60km cycling) (L,D)
- Cool morning welcomed. Breakfast. Bike ride from the hotel, undulating terrains will challenge you on the way to the biggest Lake in the central highland of Vietnam.
- Lunch at local. Dinner at lake resort. Ovenight in Lak Lake.
Day2: Lak Lake - trekking (20km trekking) (B,L)
- Breakfast at the hotel. Crossing the lake by boat from Lak Resort. Start trekking through the National Forest Reserve of Lak Lake.
- Picnic en-route. Continue trekking to the agricultural areas of the local, to the national road 27. Car picks up guests back to Lak Resort. At leisure at the swimming pool. Dinner.
- Enjoy the gong show with the local people. Overnight at Lak Resort.
Day3: Lak Lake - Buon Ma Thuot (50km cycling) (B,L)
- Breakfast at the hotel. Elephant riding across the lake and dugout canoe on the lake.
- Ride to Buon Ma Thuot - ahomeland of vietnamese coffee and tea. Visit Draysap and Dray Nur waterfalls. Start trekking from Draysap to Gia Long waterfalls (7km). Back to the city.
- Check-in and overnight in Buon Ma Thuot.
Day4: Buon Ma Thuot city tour and departure (B,L)
- Morning city tour: Ethnographic museum, Akothon village of the Ede, wooden pagoda of Khai Doan and the central market.
- Lunch. At leisure in the afternoon. Transfer to Buon Ma Thuot airport onward flight. End of tour and welcome back.
